The family-run housebuilder has provided 14 new winter coats for Newquay Titans Under-11s, replacing kit that dates back to when the children were seven years old.
The mixed team, comprising 13 boys and one girl, trains every Tuesday at Newquay Tretherras School and plays matches in a Sunday league.
For grassroots clubs, securing sponsorship can be challenging, with the cost of replacing equipment and team clothing often falling on families and volunteers. The new partnership with Morrish Homes is therefore a welcome boost for the Titans as the colder months set in.
Richard Martyn, coach of Newquay Titans Under-11s, said: "We're incredibly grateful to Morrish Homes for stepping in to support us. Finding sponsorship isn't always easy. This makes a real difference, not just in keeping everyone warm and comfortable, but in helping the children feel part of a team. It also takes some of the financial pressure off families, which is especially appreciated."
The sponsorship is particularly close to home for Morrish Homes, which is building traditionally designed, energy-efficient properties at Nansledan, the Duchy of Cornwall's growing community on the outskirts of Newquay, just a mile from where the Titans train.
Melanie Richards, Sales & Marketing Director at Morrish Homes, said: "Grassroots football plays such an important role in bringing children and families together, and we're delighted to support a team right on our doorstep. It's lovely to see the enthusiasm these young players have for the game, and we wish them every success for the season ahead."
With their new kit ready for action, the Titans can now tackle whatever the Cornish winter throws at them!
