Poundbury's first post office opened for business this week. Located in the Buttermarket Square, Buttermarket Stores has opened with extended hours to serve Poundbury residents and locals.
A one-stop shop for both post office transactions and convenience store goods, this new style, open-plan branch will fill the gap in the existing service, with the nearest Post Office one mile away in Dorchester town centre.
Sahil and Adriana Dalvi, said: “We opened as a convenience store four months ago and through working in the Buttermarket Square, felt an integrated Post Office would be of great benefit to our community. We are delighted that with the support of The Duchy of Cornwall, Morrish Builders and The Post Office, we have been able to make this a reality for our customers.
The post office will open seven days a week from 7:30am until 6:30pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am until 4pm on a Sunday.
