More homes are needed in East Devon. According to East Devon District Council’s adopted Local Plan, a total of 17,100 new homes are to be constructed by 2031. In order to decide where in the district new housing should come forward, the Council is undertaking a Local Plan review. A Call for Sites was issued in January 2021 and Morrish Homes submitted the land at Oak Road for consideration. A public exhibition was held in September 2021 to provide the opportunity for the local community to feedback on the evolving proposals and the project team is grateful for the feedback received so far. Your views are important to help shape any proposals and make them the best they can be.

East Devon District Council has recently confirmed that housing delivery in the district is falling short. Morrish Homes are in a position to help ensure that the Government’s requirements can be met and that people can find a suitable place to live. An outline planning application for 23 homes has been submitted to the Council, registered under planning reference 22/2533/MOUT. Please view the application documentation and provide comments here.

Due to delays in considering the planning application by East Devon District Councils Planning Team, Morrish Homes have now taken the difficult decision to submit an appeal for non determination on our application. The development of this site will provide much needed homes for East Devon and assist in replenishing their housing land supply. We have support from Highways on sustainability and access, affordable housing is under negotiation and there is support from other key stakeholders through the application process, including an agreed drainage strategy with South West Water.
