Homepage > Our Proposal
Morrish Homes’ project team believe that this site has the potential to make a positive contribution to housing delivery in West Hill, responding to future housing need in the village and wider East Devon.
The team is participating in East Devon District Council’s Local Plan Review, which has only just started and will determine the housing requirements across the district. In January 2021 the Council issued a Call for Sites, which is now closed, and will provide a good overview of where in the district the sites are that may be available for housing and employment land. The Council will assess all sites that have been proposed and will publish the results in a HELAA (Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment), setting out the sites’ technical suitability, which is expected towards the end of 2021. The Council aims to adopt the emerging Local Plan in 2023.
On 10 September 2021 we held an early-stage public exhibition where draft ideas for the site have been discussed with the local community. Members of the public asked questions and provided valuable feedback. The project team will consider all responses received and would like to thank members of the community for their interest. There are a number of high-level principles that we are working from and that we would like to share with you:
We would like to hear from the local community as the plans take shape and evolve over time. If you have feedback you would like to share with us, in particular ideas about how this site and any future plans could best contribute to the community, please get in touch.
